The Dan Table Lamp is a study in geometric form and functional engineering. The hexagonal base is precision-cut from 14-gauge steel, then formed and welded with tolerance within 0.2mm to ensure a perfectly flat seating surface. The opal glass globe is mouth-blown and annealed for optical uniformity, delivering consistent light diffusion across the entire sphere.

Light Distribution

The opal glass globe provides 360-degree omnidirectional light diffusion with a measured uniformity ratio of 0.85 (ratio of minimum to maximum illuminance on the sphere surface). At a distance of 1 meter with a 60W equivalent 2700K LED bulb (800 lumens), the Dan delivers approximately 95 lux of ambient illumination, making it ideal for bedside, accent, and ambient lighting applications. The globe’s opal coating eliminates visible bulb filament, providing a clean, modern aesthetic even when unlit.

Construction & Testing

Each unit undergoes: base flatness verification (feeler gauge test, tolerance 0.1mm), globe fit tolerance check (gap between globe and socket ring 2M Ohm), and a 4-hour burn-in test. The powder coating is cured at 180C for 20 minutes and tested for adhesion per ASTM D3359 (cross-hatch test, rating 4B or higher).
