The Carter Floor Lamp draws from mid-century industrial workshop lighting, re-engineered for modern residential use. The tripod base is constructed from 16-gauge cold-rolled steel tubing with precision-machined hinge joints, providing a stable, adjustable foundation. The conical shade is deep-drawn from 18-gauge steel with a matte black powder-coat interior to maximize light reflection and minimize glare. The exposed Edison-style socket adds industrial character while accepting standard E26 bulbs.

Tilt test on 15-degree incline passed without tipping. The steel shade acts as a passive heat sink, dissipating bulb heat through the 1.0mm wall and 8-inch diameter surface area. Measured shade exterior temperature with 60W incandescent bulb: 52C (ambient 25C), safe to touch after 5 minutes of cooling. The powder coating is heat-resistant to 120C continuous, well within operating temperatures. All steel components are degreased, phosphate-treated, and powder-coated for corrosion resistance.
