The Nova Floor Lamp is a study in architectural form and functional lighting. The sweeping arc arm is CNC bent from 1-inch diameter steel tubing with a radius tolerance of +/- 0.3mm, creating a graceful curve that positions the large dome shade precisely over seating or dining areas. The dome shade is deep-drawn from 18-gauge steel with a matte black powder-coat interior to maximize downward light reflection and minimize glare. The solid Carrara marble base provides substantial weight and stability, grounding the dramatic arc with natural elegance.

Structural & Thermal Performance

The solid marble base provides an extremely low center of gravity (4 inches from surface), ensuring exceptional stability even with the arc fully extended. Tilt test on 15-degree incline passed without tipping. The steel dome shade acts as a passive heat sink, dissipating bulb heat through the 1.0mm wall and 18-inch diameter surface area. Measured shade exterior temperature with 60W incandescent bulb: 48C (ambient 25C), safe to touch. The CNC bending process maintains tube roundness within 2% deformation, ensuring structural integrity across the full arc. The powder coating is cured at 180C for 20 minutes and tested per ASTM D3359 (cross-hatch adhesion, rating 4B+). The marble base is sealed with a penetrating stone sealer to prevent staining and is tested per ASTM C97 (absorption rate < 0.2%).

Construction & Compliance

Metal components are degreased, phosphate-treated, and powder-coated for corrosion resistance. Electrical components UL recognized. FCC certified for electromagnetic compatibility. RoHS compliant. The porcelain socket is rated for 250V/660W and tested per UL 496. The marble base is sourced from Carrara, Italy, and each piece has unique natural veining. Felt pad on base protects floors.
